Description

Andre Pelser and the Harvester Blues Band continued to produce more songs through 2013 and started to perform regularly for the Missions Auctions that helped to fulfil Jesus’ commission to go and make disciples of all nations, and His command to love God and mankind.

The CD starts with the powerhouse “More than Overcomers” and tells the story of a boxer that trains and takes the hits to overcome. But when he takes his woman out for lunch” she becomes more than an overcomer!

At his studio in picturesque Grotto Bay on the Cape West Coast, sound engineer Ari Terblanche was added some cinematic surround sound effects on “War Zone Blues”. The track has choppers and gun shots and explores the post-traumatic stress that soldiers endure. The song is based on a newspaper article that explains why soldiers struggle to adapt to “the dead routines of life, that finally kill.” A touching memoir to soldiers everywhere.

Jesus’ words “Do you love me more than these?” is a reminder about our reason for singing and doing good unto others: our intrinsic love for Jesus and His Kingdom. Peter the apostle was offered a chance to redeem himself after denying he knew Jesus, let’s answer the question too.

“Everything Works Together” is a show stopper with Andre show casing his piano skills! Andre performed with Nola and their band in Brisbane Australia in 1985, on the Saturday after Elton John performed during the week. A large crowd came for the free concert and many souls were saved as part of their mission to Australia. They planted 4 churches in their time there and launched many into ministry. The message rings true today.

On a mission to Uganda, Andre was travelling through a jungle in the mud when he saw “Jesus in the window, starring at me.” It turned out to be a poster that the family had placed in the window for decoration, but he stopped the car and took a picture and wrote this song.

The title track is a steady train blues complete with the steam engine whistle. After 124 nations in missions, Andre is still going and fulfilling his calling and when people get to see him preach or perform he will “stay for a moment just to be with you.”

The outro track is the live version of “More Than Overcomers” recorded by Marco Meyer at Milpark Centre, in Milnerton Cape Town.
