It is not completely reformed yet, but we are reforming according to the Scriptures. We are conforming to the image of Christ Jesus, God’s Son.” (Romans 8:29, 30)

“The world has yet to see what God can do through totally dedicated artists.” The Holy Ghost spoke those words to me while I was walking in the streets of Brussels Belgium in February 1972 on a sunny winter’s morning.

I believe we live in the day when God will use artistes more and more. Artistes have always been involved with either the past or the future – very seldom the present. Their reflective nature made them observers rather than participators. God is bringing in a new wave of artistes. Artistes like Jesus: ones who create as they go along through their words and their deeds sometimes without knowing or planning, because a higher force of creativity has begun to flow through them – the very nature and life of God, the Creator of the universe!

I feel it is my sacred duty to record some of the miraculous events for the sake of posterity, so that those who believe in Jesus Christ in the following generations may carry on with the work of proclaiming faith in Jesus Christ who He died on the Cross for us and whom God raised from the dead after three days in the grave. He has given us authority over all the power of the devil and He has commissioned us to go into the entire world to preach His Gospel of the Kingdom with signs and wonders following us wherever we go!

It is March 8, 1858, and John Hanning Speke is on an island in Lake Tanganyika trying vainly to hire a dhow from an Arab slaver, the better to explore the waters around him. That night, while he camps, a small beetle crawls into his ear and begins “to dig violently at my tympanum”. In terrible agony, Speke sticks a penknife blade in his ear and “applied the point . . . to [the beetle’s] back, which did more harm than good; for though a few thrusts quieted him, the point also wounded my ear so badly that suppuration took place and all the facial glands extending from that point down to the point of the shoulder became contorted . . . . It was the most painful thing I ever remember to have endured”.
